Third Sunday in June is celebrated as The Fatrher’s Day in almost all the countries all over the world. In 2017 it is to be celebrated on 18th June. This day is to honor and respect Dad/Papa/Pappa/Dadu/or Bapu. Is it? I mean the only meaning of it? NO. Rather, it is a day to spare and enjoy time with Dad and appreciate all he does and did for you. What Dad really wants is healthy, happy and successful kids. And, he wants you to spend a few moments with him on Father's Day. Today's life style is busy for both dads and kids. So, a little time with dad on Father's Day is just what he wants.
A Father is more than the biological paternal source of our being. It is the person who creates, nourishes, loves, cares, earns, sacrifices, fights, scolds and provides happiness by all means in any circumstances for us. It is the man who helps to set the standards, the family values and the example. So, add to this group, step fathers and other men who willingly and eagerly accept and cherish the role. Whether biological, adopted or informally, if they are the father figure to you, give him some recognition today and don't hesitate to call him "Dad".
Strength, stern, disciplinarian, sage, adviser, bank, angry man - these are the words we use for Dad. Dad always had some special sayings and quotes. You can remember them and know your Dad by the ones that contained a hidden message or pushed you to succeed at a difficult task, or towards a higher level of performance at something. We call them "Dadism” . And, we are collecting them here. Well, here is our list of those favorite sayings. Join the fun. If you don't recall such one of the beautiful sayings of your dad, I will surely believe that you have not known your father well yet, and you are still a far away reaching of the love of your Dad !

And even more than this word to word meaning of father, we as Christian have the great, creator of the universe, father of fathers-to whom in each and every prayer we call and remember and pray. Yes, he was the beginner of the life and the universe and so we begin with his name “Our father, which art in heaven….   ….Amen.” And this is the real fact of rejoice and merriment for all of us that we have this Father as our Lord, as our savior, as our care taker, as our life giver and more. So why not to celebrate this Father’s day remembering him too?
We have one more reason to celebrate this Day that we have our religious priests to lead and guide us towards lord. We respectfully and symbolically call them “Father”. They are the persons who in true ways keep us near to the lord by their activities. Preaching, prayers, lives, inspirations, talks, masses, forgiving, examples and in many more ways. They are the part of our religious life and so they should also be wished on this day for whatever roll they have played in making us and for not allowing us to go away from the lord.
